80-85% of New Zealand schools outsource their policy writing and publication to SchoolDocs, a private company. Recently we discovered that they have imbedded ‘gender identity’ language into their policies, although this term is not in NZ Human Rights law.

There are NO compulsory topics in RSE

“Schools and kura have the flexibility to design their local curriculum, including their RSE curriculum. This means that while RSE is guided by the national curriculum, it will differ from school to school and there are no compulsory topics that must be addressed”.

Read Appendix A of an Official Information Act request response, from Minister of Education Erica Stanford. She requested information from the Ministry of Education in December 2023 and this is their response.

Opt Out Of Relationship & Sexuality Education Classes

Even though the NZFirst party has stated that RSE in it’s current form will be gone from schools at the end of Term 1 2025, we hear from many parents that their teachers and schools are entrenched in teaching the RSE topics that carries much concern.

The Education & Training Act 2020 Section 51 state that A PARENT can opt their child out of RSE and the school MUST abide.
