School Board Bans Rodney Hide From Concerns Over Inappropriate Sex Education

Former MP and current host on Reality Check Radio Rodney Hide has publicly criticised Wakatipu High School for age-inappropriate sex education content aimed at his 13-year-old daughter, a Year 9 student.

Hide, a parent at the school, was denied the opportunity to present his concerns to the school’s Board of Trustees after nearly 12 months of seeking a meeting, culminating in a contentious standoff at the first board meeting of 2025 on February 17.
